Ridgecrest Apartments, also known as Ridgecrest Senior Housing,
are part of an independent living community
for low income older adults age 62+ and people with disabilities.
Ridgecrest opened in 1984 and are owned by
Ridgewood Senior Citizens Housing Corporation Inc,
a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, that is run by a volunteer Board of Trustees.
Their mission is to provide good quality, affordable housing for our residents.
Ridgecrest Apartments are subsidized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
under Section 202 and managed by the Housing Authority of Bergen County (HABC).
Ridgecrest has 130 apartments and is home to over 150 residents.
Despite any hardships that they may face,
we strive to inspire HOPE to empower our residents
to live their best lives - we want to help them THRIVE!
The Ridgecrest Owls
Our mascot and newsletter logos have different types of owls depicting the holidays and seasons of the current month.
This is because owls are associated with wisdom
and intelligence as well as being keepers of sacred knowledge.
Once you spend a little time at Ridgecrest it is easy to see that our residents are wise, intelligent, have much life experience, and many memories to share.
Throughout the year our Community Partners are presented with
special recognition for their generosity towards our residents,
"THE OWL" Award.
THE OWL stands for
Thank you for Helping to Enhance Our Wonderful Lives!
