The Ridgecrest Social Programming Director organizes social activities, health and wellness activities,
care package distributions, and partners with community agencies
on available resources and programs that benefit our residents.
Key benefits of being socially active include enhanced mental health,
sense of belonging, better self-esteem, improved physical health,
increased cognitive functioning, accountability, and purposeful living.
Ridgecrest has a regular need for yarn, fabric, blank note cards, and puzzle books.
Circle of Love volunteers are Ridgecrest residents and community partners that work with our Social Programming Director to help foster and promote a friendly, welcoming, and caring environment within the Ridgecrest community.
Since its formation in February 2017, the Ridgecrest Circle
of Love has grown beyond knitting and crocheting items for those in need. Circle of Love activities help our residents channel their passions and fulfill their sense of purpose.
Community Connections volunteers work to improve communications so Ridgecrest residents are up to date on current events and important announcements.
They help with distributing newsletters, updating the bulletin boards and posting emergency notifications.
Crafty Creations volunteers use their time and talents
to knit, crochet, sew and craft items for those in need, friends and family. Items that are frequently made include hats, scarves, baby blankets, lap blankets,
prayer shawls, flower crafts and kitchen helpers.
Gardens of Hope Project volunteers help to decorate rocks that are placed in community gardens throughout our community. You simply take a rock for motivation, share a rock for inspiration or add a rock to help our garden grow. One kind message can change
someone’s entire day, outlook, and life!
Sunshine Committee volunteers work to promote
positivity and encouragement throughout the
Ridgecrest community. The Sunshine Committee
celebrates resident achievements and offers comfort during difficult times. Activities include birthday
celebrations, care package deliveries, wellness checks, telephone calls, get well cards and sympathy cards.
Social & Hospitality Committee volunteers help generate a greater sense of community by creating a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere. They work to create an attractive and festive ambiance for social events.
They promote fellowship by encouraging residents to participate in events. Their work includes event set up and clean up, serving refreshments, putting up and taking down holiday decorations and special displays.
Welcome Wagon volunteers help new residents settle into the Ridgecrest community and learn about onsite and community activities and resources.
